But an intense weekend soon unravels, thrusting both families into a radically altered reality where time is limited and emotional issues must be solved amidst growing heartache.

Lonely Lithuanian teenager Rokas, whose mother works abroad, is trying to rise above his depressing post-socialist housing block by singing in a choir. His only refuge – his voice – quickly turns into a threat, as local gangs hunt him for being branded a snitch.

A newly appointed teacher arrives at a remote village school in 1947. The famous journalist and distinguished poet was downgraded for illegal publications and forbidden anti-Soviet verses. Suspicious locals still prefer to test his loyalties, while children wilingly recite his verses from 'To My Soviet Motherland', written under pressure to prase Uncle Lenin. Eventually, an unforgotten friend shows him a secret wintery path to the Dainava resistance platoon's underground bunker.

Miglė, who married when she was very young, has for 26 years been divorced from her ex-husband who one day calls her and asks for a favour. He has found that it would be a good time to get married again after the death of his mother. But there is a small problem: their divorce is valid only in the eyes of the law, because a Catholic marriage cannot be divorced. It can, however, be annulled. All that needs to be done is to complete an application and give the “Catholic court” a good reason. But she does not know in what kind of absurd situations she is about to find herself in.

Frigid winter in a war-devastated, present-day city. Several years have passed since the destruction, and the city is slowly rebuilding. A thirty-year-old guy is living as a squatter in an apartment with a group of strangers. He struggles to survive and also to find a little more comfort in this rough setting. One night he nearly burns the flat down, hoping for a warmer sleep. His roommates start hating him, so the guy has to find another shelter.

After the National Performing Arts Awards, the bus of actors returns home: everyone was nominated, but no one won. The bus is filled with thank-you speeches, karaoke and champagne. As the actors are driving along, they suddenly see their colleagues' car on the side of the road.

Two friends wander around a Soviet-era neighbourhood in the outskirts of Vilnius. An airport is going to be built here soon, and the place where they grew up will cease to exist. This thoughtful, post-dramatic film shot by director and cinematographer Vytautas Katkus is an inquiry into the psychogeography of post-Soviet Lithuania.

Thirty-year old guy is assaulted on the street. Randomly, in the middle of a day. The emotional damage hurts him more than the punches taken. This is a new experience for him. The guy tries to sort things out between justice, revenge and a bit of shame. Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the story there are guys that did the beating. They practice first-punch knockouts. And they helpfully carry their mothers’ food bags in the evening.
