Inspired by true events, its journey from bold beginnings to eventual decline is now being reimagined through following the story of a group of passionate music enthusiasts. Their mission was to challenge the state-run radio monopoly by delivering fresh pop and rock ’n’ roll sounds to a youthful audience eager for new music.
Denmark in 1927. The ambitious police officer Otto Himmelstrup leads the newly formed Special Unit, which is tasked with assisting local police in solving particularly difficult crimes.
