As If We Were Equal

Seven workers, all women... Four free trade zones in four different Turkish cities. Surrounded by high walls, barbed wire fences, very much like a concentration camp. This documentary covers the working conditions of women in the free trade zones, their experiences, observations and their hopes for the future. The barbed wire fences not only sorround the zones but also accentuate the captivity of women, of women workers. So much so that the borders of the zone evade us, inside and outside is indistinguishable.
The Zone

The passion to describe every moment of one's life through images - Could it give the power to struggle against all kinds of obstacles to someone fascinated by cinema? Ahmet Uluçay, well-known by his idiosyncratic short films and his only feature film "Boats out of Watermelon Rinds", had to face the fact that he had a brain tumor, and had his first operation 12 years ago. This documentary film, in accordance with Uluçay's life between reality and dream, draws us from the half-lit corridors of a hospital to the village, to childhood and dreams, and into the world of a passionate cinéaste.
A Dream School in the Steppes

A powerful display of solidarity from women and members of the LGBTQ+ community who occupied Istiklal Caddesi, one of the most popular and lively streets in Istanbul, for International Women’s Day. Protesting has always been one of the most direct and effective means of vindicating struggles and denouncing injustices and abuse: many individual voices, silenced and unheard, become a single powerful collective voice. A transfeminist tide occupied the road from one end to the other. The video shows a banner with the words “Our life, our revolt, our struggle: feminism” held by the front rows of the crowd, which alludes to the length of the procession.
