Ten-year-old Janek has a vivid imagination. He constantly makes things up and imagines himself as a superhero. When the demonic Utopiec replaces his older sister with the repulsive Podciep, no one believes him. To make matters worse, his parents send the sad and frightened boy on holiday to Silesia. Janek decides to rescue his sister from the world of demons, and his greatest ally turns out to be his eccentric great-grandfather, Marcin, a former miner.

Eight-year-old Yoshko is awaiting the arrival of her cousin, Lila, whose parents died in a car accident. The girl is to live with relatives. Joszko is intrigued by the girl, who has stopped speaking in the wake of the shock. Relations between the children quickly become tense, turning into rivalry. Lila, craving maternal care, tries to take Joszek's place in his mother's heart. She even goes so far as to make threats.

A subtly and sensitively told story of a daughter’s complicated relationship with her father. She sets off on a journey to see the man who abandoned her in the past. Her father lets her into his flat and tries to answer her questions. Together, they pore over the letters they have written to each other over the years. She cleans his flat and sets both her father’s world and her own relationship with him in order. A difficult confrontation arises between them. This is a film about a daughter’s profound longing for her father and the acceptance of the fact that it is longing which will never be appeased.
