When he takes a job as a schoolteacher in a new neighborhood, the hapless intellectual Mr. Hekmati finds that he is a fish out of water.

Arbab Jamshid St. is a congregation place for the extras of Persian Film where they wait for a famous person called Ciccio to take them to the movie location. There is a newcomer in this group; a young man called Davoud who has moved to Tehran from a small town with the hope of becoming an actor.

"Shater Abbas" is well-known in the neighborhood. He has a good family and a profitable job. A girl named "Fatemeh" is in love with him, but Fatemeh also has a suitor who is an older and wealthy man...

Fatemeh (Yasmin Sadri) runs away from her father's (Hossein Amirfazli) house and is met by a young driver named Nader Siah (Homayun Bahadran). Nader takes her to the house of her mother (Malihe Nasiri) and her brother (Amir). Nader's mother informs Fitne's father and returns the girl to her father's house. A man named Shoja (Mansour Matin) and a driver named Ismail (Mohammad Eskandari) insult Fitne and her friend Mojgan (Marguerite). Fitne keeps the matter a secret from Nader. Fearing disgrace, she marries a young man named Ali (Manouchehr Valizadeh) at Mojgan's suggestion. Parvaneh (Jaleh) decides to kill Fitne; but Ismail prevents her. Ali divorces her to save Fitne's life. When Fitneh decides to start a new life with Nader, Shoja, who has no children, tries to take over Fitneh's son. Shoja and several others go to Nader's house and after a struggle, they kidnap the child. While fleeing, Shoja crashes into a car and dies.

Malook (Criminal Angel), the daughter of the local hero (Valiullah Shirandam), runs away from her father's house to fulfill her dreams and joins a group of vagrants who call themselves "hippies"...

After getting involved in a brawl with three brothers, Ali accidently kills one of them and runs for his life.

In the village where Samad lives, the "Fighting Illiteracy" organization organizes a literacy class for the elderly to teach them literacy skills. In order to trap a group of smugglers, the head of the police force arranges a "politics" and sends one of the smugglers he has arrested to the class. The smuggler's friends, who have learned of the presence of their accomplice in the class, try to escape him, unaware of the trap that has been set for them. At the moment when the smugglers want to free their friend and the police station officers are unaware, Samad, who is one of the students in the class, enters the fray and traps the fugitive and the group of smugglers, and delivers them to the police station.
