Young man struggles with being rejected by society.

The film is based on true events. Officers locked in a POW camp make a desperate attempt to get out. A group of daredevils undertake to dig an underground tunnel through which they can escape. We learn about their moral dilemmas, solidarity and loyalty to their friends. This is especially emphasized in the last scenes of the film.

As a result, the images and histories seen and told in the film contain an unusual degree of intensity and emotion.

Even though Magda cannot imagine living in the countryside, following Paweł's will, they decide to buy a farm near Serock. Magda and Paweł, not without problems, buy the farm from old farmers. The youngsters start to manage the homestead, at the same time they undergo some mental changes. Paweł's father dies, his mother decides to be an adviser to her son and Magda. The girl begins to trust life, however, she loses her first baby. Paweł finds it difficult to get along with the local farming club. The spouses share with us their fears, hopes and reflections.

She took up the theme of faith, which had been absent from her work until then, and which would henceforth recur in her subsequent documentaries. In Missionaries of Charity, Kamieńska observes the work and prayer of young nuns. The complementary nature of "ora et labora" in their lives is reflected in the structure of the film. We alternate between places where the sisters help people in need and Mass with Mother Teresa.
