On November 4, 1979, Iranian student activists stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking over 60 Americans hostage. Japan and Iran are not in close relationship. More than 4 centuries ago, however, Persian carpets were used in the festival of Takayama, a historic city in mountainous area of Honsyu. A man planned to resume the carpet in the festival, and asked Kinue, a Persian carpet designer, to design it. Kinue's husband, Makoto, is a carpet importer. They send the design to Iran to weave the carpet. But just before Makoto goes to Iran to receive the carpet, Kinue dies of a traffic accident. A month before the festival, Makoto went to Isphahan, Iran, to receive the carpet. He brings his daughter Sakura, who does not open her heart after she lost her mother. To surprise, the carpet production has not even started. It will take 3 months from the start. For Makoto it means he betrays not only the festival planners but also his late wife.

On a road trip to the north the members of the family find a suitcase. They want to open it but the head of the family is not allowing them. This marks the beginning of the adventures for them in the rest of their trip.

Mohammad Ali is an actor and filmmaker who returns to his country Iran to begin a new life with his painter wife Mitra. Finding a home seems impossible, however, and a baby is on the way.

Habib returns to Iran after many years and goes after his fellow Aziz but finds him in an asylum not talking and not remembering anything about his past. By the request of the doctors Habib begins to tell Aziz about their past life and the story of their friendship when both were bank's employees. They grew up together and began working in the bank's security carrying bags of money, until one day when some thieves rub the money from them and run away.
