Biography
Shaun Chad Smit grew up in South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria, where he studied Musical Theatre at Tshwane University of Technology after graduating high school. He started his professional acting career in Henry Mylne’s theatre production of VASELINETJIE at Aardklop and Woordfees. Soon after, he starred in The Fugard Theatre’s hit musical production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW as Rocky from 2013 to 2015. Shaun also took the stage again in Terence Makapan’s theatre production of the drama BENJI, at the National Art Festival in Makhanda. A few of his TV/Film credits include; American TV series BLOOD DRIVE (SyFy), BLACK MIRROR (Netflix), Antenna Pictures’ HOW TO ROB A BANK, ERFSONDES (SABC2), DIE SPREEUS (KykNET), and LUI MAAR OP, BELINDA (KykNET), KLOOF (KykNET). Shaun has been working as a cinematographer, colourist, and film editor for the last few years for various companies, including Afterdark Post Production, Red Blur and Wyrd Films. His first love will always be acting, but taking on different spheres in the film industry has opened up his mind as an actor and creator.
