Biography
Andres Ehin (March 14, 1940 – December 10, 2011) was an Estonian writer and translator. In 1964 he graduated from University of Tartu, studying Estonian philology (especially Finno-Ugric studies). From 1972 to 1974 he was the senior scientific editor of Estonian Soviet Encyclopaedia. From 1972 he was a member of Estonian Writers' Union. From 1968 to 1989 he was a member of Communist Party. In 1990 he joined Estonian Social Democratic Party. He married Ly Seppel (Ehin). Their daughter is poet Kristiina Ehin

Jüri Rumm is a hot-tempered young peasant who is not afraid of either German barons or the Russian czar, barfights or disobedience to his master's orders. Seven leading animation artists chose one poem from each Estonian poet according to their own taste and illustrated it with a two- to three-minute cartoon. Leading actors of the Estonian theater and cinema, as well as the authors of the poems themselves, took part in the dubbing.

It's a story about a man who spent the winter sleeping at the roots of an oak tree and gained incredible strength. In return, the oak tree was brought to a palace, hoping to gain the same power. However, once it was separated from its roots, it lost its magical influence.
