1951 Japanese movie
In a certain port town, there is a group of young men called the Wakakusa-kai. The chairman Oda (Miki), member Ichiro Sonoda (Ishihama), his sister and music lover Keiko (Misora), Keiko's classmate Sachiko (Ota Chieko) and her brother Shoji (Yamada) meet enthusiastically to brighten the town and help themselves grow. Ichiro's family lives with his father and Keiko in a milk shop, but Keiko's desire to go to music school is unlikely to be fulfilled. Meanwhile, Shoji's father is trying to get Shoji and Keiko married.
When a young woman named Kanako goes to Lake Yamanaka with her close friends, she meets a young businessman, Saeki, who gives her an expensive pearl necklace to win her favor. As Kanako sets out to return the gift, she meets her father, who steals the necklace in order to repay his creditor.
A woman in a bar was killed at a new construction site in an apartment building, and a handbag containing the value of five million yen was taken away. Detective Kuribayashi, who was involved in the investigation, turned his eyes to Kishida Ryohei, a cabaret musician who lives in a nearby apartment. He had a criminal record for stabbing his wife, who had betrayed him, and a match he worked for had fallen at the scene of the murder. However, Kishida, who appeared at the police station, stubbornly denied the crime, and he returned to his apartment without physical evidence.However, the residents of the apartment who learned of this had been cold-blooded and rumored to be a murderer. Kishida has a secret crush on the stripper Tachibana Yumi, who lives in the apartment directly opposite.However, Yumi has a lover of a plumber named Maki Shinji.
Hatamoto Ooka Gentaro was deeply committed to a future with a beautiful girl named Omachi, a relationship facilitated by his love of the shamisen. Omachi was stalked by a ronin named Akiyama Kanosuke, and at one point, Gentaro and Akiyama dueled at Matanuiyama, but the confrontation was left unresolved when Omachi, sensing urgency, called the authorities. Meanwhile, Gentaro's uncle, Kii-no-kami, concerned about Gentaro's whereabouts, ordered him to investigate a conspiracy by Tachibana Tadama, a tyrannical director of Hachijo who exercised his power oppressively in Shimousa Iioka. Gentaro attempted to leave on a journey with Omachi but was obstructed by his uncle's retainers.
A woman diver in great peril is rescued by Shinji, a fisherman. But his deed is belittled by Takiko, another diver, as a rash act. Her attitude, however, is nothing but a cloak to hide her affection for him. Shinji, hard working and manly, becomes the focus of many yearning eyes and Seikichi, the boss' son, picks a quarrel with him and violent fight ensues in which Shinji kills a man in self-defense.
Three beautiful daughters grew up in a dog and cat care clinic. The eldest was named Takako (Keiko Tsushima), the second was Tsugumi (Keiko Awaji), and the third was Mihato (Hibari Misora). Mihato was still a pretty seventeen-year-old girl, but she considered herself as mature as her older sisters. Mihato knows that Tsugumi is friends with Ippei Yaguchi (Masao Wakahara) and acts as a love messenger between them, but she didn't know that Takako is also in love with Ippei...
