Leonardo, an upper-middle class boy from the south of Rio de Janeiro, befriends Kiko, a boy who lives on the street and who juggles balls at a traffic light. The rich kid decides to lend Kiko his handheld video game – but it is stolen by hill boys. This is just the beginning of a great friendship between the two. They begin a great adventure that takes Leonardo to the favela, where he knows a reality entirely different from his own.
No Meio da Rua

Through interviews and footage, this work revisits the historic collaboration between Pixinguinha and Vinícius de Moraes in creating the soundtrack for the film Sun Over the Mud, directed by Alex Viany (1963). A significant milestone of the Cinema Novo movement, Sun Over the Mud had limited screenings for the general public but definitively contributed to the emergence of one of the most remarkable—and previously unprecedented—partnerships between these two legendary figures of Brazilian music.
