Reverend Eric Camden and his wife Annie have always had their hands full caring for seven children, not to mention the friends, sweethearts and spouses that continually come and go in the Camden household.

"Meat Loaf" Aday is an overgrown Texas youngster, the son of a gentle woman dying of cancer and an alcoholic, abusive father. Tormented by his father and schoolmates over his size, he strikes out on his own after his mother's death, in an impossible task to prove himself to the world and to himself. A chance audition for a musical leads him to join forces with composer Jim Steinman, and together the two make music history with the operatic rock album "Bat Out of Hell." But the demons that drive Meat Loaf aren't assuaged by success, and eventually he must come to terms with them.

Rachel and Tom Stockman are the perfect couple. The only thing they lack is a child. But Rachel has a rare mental disorder, which can cause irreversible birth defects. With all the odds against them, it seems that Tom and Rachel must be reconciled to being childless. But Rachel is determined to have a baby - in fact, she is prepared to risk everything to become pregnant: her marriage, her healthy, even her sanity. So can she prove the medical community wrong? Can she beat the demons inside her own head? Or will she have a terrible price to pay?
