Mykhailo Stelmakh

A group of peasant farmers in turn-of-the-century Ukraine leaves home in search of better luck in Siberia. The story follows those who stay behind and their dispute with the landowner, as well as a love triangle involving a local beauty and two young men.

During WWII, Dmitro Goritsvit, a partisan commander, fights against fascists and Barabolei in Ukraine, joined by villagers Marta, Ganusia, and injured Red Army commanders Savva Tur and Mikhail Sozinov.

The main character Danilo was one of Petlyura’s military commanders. But 1920 began, the struggle against the Soviet power ended, it was the time for the former irreconcilable fighters to return to their peaceful occupations. The only thing is that a former Petlyura’s fighter is not sure, that he is awaited in his own home or at least they understand for what he shed his blood.

Based on the novel by Mikhail Stelmakh “A Big Family”. The second film of the trilogy (“Human Blood is Not a Water”, “Dmitro Goritsvit”, “People Don’t Know Everything”) tells about one of the first collective farms of Ukraine, the fight against the kulaks and the love of the communist Dmitro Goritsvit for Marta, the Petliurist's daughter, who guilty of the death of Dmitro's father.

Life in a Ukrainian village after the Soviet revolution. A poetic ballad, which through the lens of a child's observations, dreams and hopes rely on the belief for a new and better future. Living with his grandfather and mother, little Mykhailyk has a great passion for books and hearing about a huge library at a nearby castle, he begins making plans to go there.

A sequel to the story "Гуси-Лебеді летять" ("Geese-swans fly"), about the life of one of the villages of Podillya - an optimistic story of Mikhail, whose childhood was spent in happiness and hope, despite the constant troubles that plagued his family. Together with his girlfriend Lyuba, the hero believes in a happy happy life, which his father Sebastian affirms with his deeds.
