Wrestlers will portray heroes or villains as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

ECW was a professional wrestling television program for WWE, based on the independent Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion that lasted from 1992 to 2001. The show's name also referred to the ECW brand, in which WWE employees were assigned to work and perform, complementary to WWE's other brands, Raw and SmackDown. It debuted on June 13, 2006 on Sci Fi in the United States and ran for close to four years until it aired its final episode on February 16, 2010 on the rebranded Syfy. It was replaced the following week with WWE NXT.

TNA Xplosion is a television program produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, featuring both highlights from Impact Wrestling and exclusive taped matches. It is now produced only for international markets, no longer airing in the United States. It currently airs in Canada on The Fight Network, in Asia and the Middle East on ESPN Star Sports, the Arab World on MBC Action, and is available on Challenge in the UK. ECW One Night Stand (2006) was a PPV produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It was held on June 11, 2006 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, New York. The main event was John Cena versus Rob Van Dam for the WWE Championship. The predominant match on the undercard was Rey Mysterio versus Sabu for the World Heavyweight Championship. Another match on the undercard was Edge, Mick Foley, and Lita versus Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer and Beulah McGillicutty in a Hardcore Intergender match.

The shows name come from both Lacey’s Angels member BJ Whitmer, who had begun to grow tired with his partner Jimmy Jacobs after he announced he was in love with Lacey, as well as from Matt Sydal, who has announced his intent to challenge his Generation Next teammates Austin Aries and Roderick Strong for the ROH Tag Team Championship.

Steel Cage Warfare was a professional wrestling event promoted by Ring of Honor. It took place on December 3, 2005 at the Basketball City in New York, New York. The show’s name comes from its main event, as rival factions Generation Next and The Embassy were set to end their six-month long feud in the first ever Steel Cage Warfare match.

Crowning a Champion was a wrestling show held by Ring of Honor. It took place on July 27, 2002 at the Murphy Recreational Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The shows main event featured Christopher Daniels, Doug Williams, Low Ki and Spanky competing in a one-hour Iron Man match to become the first ROH Champion. The four earned the right to compete for the title by winning their respects brackets in the Road to the Title tournament. The rules for the match was that for every pin and submission a wrestler scored, they would gain two points, but if they were defeated or submitted, they would lose one point.
