For her entire professional life, renowned ecologist Nalini Nadkarni pioneered climbing techniques to study "what grows back” after an ecological disturbance in the rainforest canopy. Now, after surviving a life-threatening fall from a tree, she must turn her research question onto herself in order to understand the effects of disturbance and recovery throughout her life.

Inspired by a Buddhist ritual for grieving abortions, a Japanese-American woman reevaluates what it means to end her own pregnancy.

A video poem that celebrates the resilience of womxn in a culture full of body politics, through a young woman's retelling of her abortion. The film travels in real time through the raw and heartfelt reactions from her circle of friends.

The cyclical rhythm of images and voice opens up space for reflection on heritage, memory, and the feeling of being stuck, which sometimes lasts a lifetime.
