The six-part drama directed by Tereza Kopáčová based on a script by Miro Šifra and Kristina Májová returns to a love story that traumatized several generations of Czechoslovaks. What preceded the infamous family tragedy of 1968? What followed it? Where can disrupted relationships in a closed rural community lead? What do we take with us as an inner legacy from our parents?

A primary school teacher with an inferiority complex about her weight, a bank clerk who suddenly develops a strange rash around her eyes, an aging owner of a 24-hour deli in an unhappy marriage, a lonely man living in the woods and strangers' cottages. They can continue to survive with their problems, hide them, and not deal with them. Or they can fight it and, at the cost of scars and wounds, improve their lives.

This series from the regional homicide department in Hradec connects episodic cases with a larger central mystery—the unsolved case of a woman shot dead on the shore of a pond. This plot connects the individual episodes and gradually reveals that the perpetrator may be closer than anyone thinks.
