When he accompanies his musical prodigy son on a university tour, he can't help comparing his life with those of his four best college friends who seemingly have more wealthy and glamorous lives. But when circumstances force him to reconnect with his former friends, Brad begins to question whether he has really failed or if their lives are actually more flawed than they appear.

Every month, natural hair specialist Nancy Falaise closes the doors of her Montreal salon to lead a private workshop for young girls of colour struggling to love their natural hair. Step-by-step, she teaches them how to care for their respective hair textures, while also creating a safe space for them to bond over their shared experiences and forge meaningful friendships. Nancy’s Workshop is an intimate and immersive exploration of this journey. The film is an invitation to observe Nancy and the journey of these girls, and is a testament to the immeasurable value derived from strong and empowering female relationships. When first-generation Canadian filmmaker Aïcha Diop discovers she shares DNA with hundreds of Black Americans descended from the trans atlantic slave trade, she recruits her new found American cousin to join her on an adventure to uncover a centuries old web of Black ancestral resistance, from Senegal, to the American South, and Canada. This journey crescendos in a revelatory meeting with Aïcha’s family historians, her Gawlos, and demonstrates how ancestral knowledge can plant the seeds of revolution.
