This performance was filmed on July 19, 1981, at the Sartory-Saal in Cologne, Germany, as part of the WDR Rockpalast television series. While unofficially titled At Rockpalast, it was later released on DVD in 2004, featuring multi-camera footage in PAL format and PCM stereo/Dolby audio. The band’s lineup at the time included founding members Ali Campbell (vocals, guitar), Robin Campbell (guitar, backing vocals), Earl Falconer (bass), Jimmy Brown (drums), Norman Hassan (percussion), Brian Travers (saxophone), among others.

UB40 are one of the most successful British acts of all time, with a huge string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic and around the globe. Featuring most of their greatest hits, including both songs to hit #1 in America: "Red, Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling In Love". To date, 2002 is the band's only appearance at the Montreux Festival but clearly inspired them to produce one of their finest performances. This performance is being simultaneously released on CD.

The band’s lineup featured Ali Campbell (vocals, guitar), Robin Campbell (guitar, backing vocals), Earl Falconer (bass), Jimmy Brown (drums), Norman Hassan (percussion), Brian Travers (saxophone), Astro (vocals, toasting), Mickey Virtue (keyboards), Henry Tenyue (trombone), and Patrick Tenyue (trumpet).
