This animated short revolves around the events causing an electrical systems failure on the west coast of the US. According to Blade Runner 2049’s official timeline, this failure leads to cities shutting down, financial and trade markets being thrown into chaos, and food supplies dwindling. There’s no proof as to what caused the blackouts, but Replicants — the bio-engineered robots featured in the original Blade Runner, are blamed.

Henrietta and Junior farm a secluded piece of land that has been in Junior's family for generations, but their quiet life is thrown into turmoil when an uninvited stranger shows up at their door with a startling proposal. This documentary takes place on Solstice-5, a planet whose resources are exploited by the Continental Alliance to build gigantic machines and warships. However, as the Alliance becomes too expensive to run, the operation is deemed unmanageable. Despite bombing attempts to shut down the factories in production, the machines remain unstoppable. The planet's workers, far from home, feel abandoned.
