Gusztáv, also known as Gustavus, was Hungarian series of animated short cartoons for adults. It was extremely popular in Eastern Europe, where it has achieved cult status. It ran from 1964-1977. Each episode tells an adventure of the main character, Gustav, related to the gray realities of urban life. Characteristic feature of the show was that episodes were independent: for example, Gustav is sometimes a bachelor, sometimes has large family. In Eastern Europe and Yugoslavia the episodes were broadcast on TV in the 80s, usually as airtime filler. The series was also broadcast in Western Europe and even in New Zealand - because it was not using language, other than gibberish sound, it was able to easily transcend boundaries.

In the year 80 AMM (After Mickey Mouse) on the anthropomorphic animal-controlled Planet X, a party of mafioso cats plot to enact a genocide against the mouse population of the world. Mouse scientist Professor Fushimishi seems to have found the weapon against the threat to his people's lives and calls Intermouse, who then call its best (albeit retired) agent, Nick Grabowsky, to get the plans, and as a distraction, they send a second agent - Sergeant Lazy Dick - for the mission.

The Sultan of Zanzibar has a harbor infested with sharks, which makes it impossible for ships to trade with him. In an attempt to fix the problem, he brings twelve hippos into the harbor to keep the sharks away. His idea works well enough, but once the hippos are no longer a novelty and the people no longer feed them, they begin to starve. After the hungry hippos rampage through the city looking for food, Aban-Khan, the king's adviser, slaughters all the hippos except one, a little hippo named Hugo.

In another dimension, the villainous scientist Duke of Zill, with the help of his mechanical, geometric army, ultimately takes over the golden kingdom of Oriana, where Duke has just escaped exile! But Felix the Cat must bravely save Princess Oriana and restore order once again, from her terrible Uncle Zill and his smoke-belching mechanical troops before he can put his sinister plot into action!

After a long journey with new brown bear friend Lea, Lars finds his parents have become ill. While fetching medicine, Lars crosses the snow line for the first time and learns about the forest. With his parents cured, it’s time to relax until Yuri, the funny Puffin, drops in unable to fly. It’s up to Lars and his chillin’ chums to help Yuri head back to the skies where he belongs!

Lars is experiencing exciting adventures again. First he discovers a sunken ship with Robby, then he drives away evil bandits and finally a strange bird appears at the North Pole: It's Caruso, the singing penguin.
