Biography
He was born in Dersim(Tunceli). He completed his MA in Marmara University, Department of Radio-TV-Cinema with his thesis entitled “Cinema of Turkey during Nineties.” Between 1997-2009, he has worked in Mesopotamia Cinema Collective and published articles in several newspapers and journals. He is one of the founders of Cegerxwin Art Conservatory, Cinema Academy, where he also lectured on different fields in Film Studies. Also he is the creator of Filmamed Documentary Film Festival and Kısa Dalga(Short Wave) film days.
Known For

Revolving around an old man who refuses to leave his otherwise evacuated village in Kurdish Turkey, "Ax (The Land)" is a twenty-seven-minute long short film about the forced deportations of Kurdish villages by the Turkish military.
The Land

Rojbash is the story of a group of Kurdish actors, coming together to restage a play from 25 years ago. Their journey straddles between the play, their dreams and the reality. For Kemal who dedicated his life to Kurdish theatre, political conditions of Kurdish language today, is worse than 25 years ago. In response, he decides to call his actor friends scattered around the world, to restage their old play Rojbash. Intertwining daily life with rehearsals and lines from the play, their clamorous days begin.
