Yuri Fomichyov

A story of a four sons of a big Ivanov family who are trying to start their own independent life.

Ivan Brovkin finishes serving in the army with the rank of sergeant and, together with a group of comrades after demobilization, decides to go to the development of state farm. He arrives at his native collective farm and meets there a cool welcome: the chairman of the collective farm, the bride Lyubasha and mother — consider him a traitor. The planned wedding is canceled, and Brovkin leaves for the state farm. Brovkin comes to the state farm at the time of plowing the land. He joins the team. Winter passes after working days. In letters home he writes that everything is fine with him. News about how Ivan lives is spreading throughout the village. Lyubasha is seriously thinking about running away from home to the state farm...

Mid 20th century. Industry is developing rapidly and the need for workers in factories is growing. After graduating from the tenth year, Viktor Chernyshyov, now a city dweller, did not bother to continue his education and went to the plant as a turner. He considered it quite normal that the guys enthusiastically listened to the stories of his peer Kolya, a lounger who boasted of victories over women, and participated in his dubious amusements. Only one of them, Pyotr — a real worker, a doctor, tried to reason with Kolya and the others.

The 1930s. Naval maneuvers are underway. On orders from the command, three submarines are to "attack" a battleship. In the heat of the "battle," a fourth periscope appears. Where did the fourth submarine come from? Is it one of ours or an enemy vessel? These questions must be answered immediately by the commander of the destroyer "Otvažny," otherwise...

Gunner-gunner Corporal Vasily Kochetkov meets Valya Gradskaya, a saleswoman at the military trade center, and becomes a frequent guest in her family. He soon realizes that the girl and her grandmother are spies. Kochetkov informs the command of his suspicions and is given the task of continuing to play the role of the groom.

The war ended, and peaceful days arrived. But not everyone was able to escape the "ghosts of the past." One day in the forest, at a monument to a partisan unit, two men met. One was the man responsible for the Germans shooting the entire unit, and the other was the man who miraculously survived the massacre...

The play “Zykovs” was written in 1912, during a time of confusion and depression in Russian society, a period of pre-war spiritual and moral decline. The state of the world is depicted here with a single phrase: “there was confusion of concepts”... The film-performance based on the eponymous play by M. Gorky, directed by the Moscow Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin.
