A free screen adaptation of Part 1 of Old Stender's "High Wisdom from the World and Nature". The outskirts of the Duchy of Courland-Nemesgal, second half of the 18th century, serfdom not yet abolished. The pastor, writer and scientist Gotthard Friedrich Stender lives among superstitious Latvians, passionately trying to understand them, enlighten them and bring them to their senses. To this end, he writes a book about the way the world is ordered.

Kārlis accidentally hits Kiril with a car and breaks Kiril’s bike. The damage must be fixed so both of them go to the repair shop, but the major master of it can’t be found. One event leads to another, one person introduces the next. The guys wander through the grey yet bustling Riga, capturing the noises, melodies and words that merge into a city’s symphony. Amidst traffic jams, the slush of melting snow, and improvised music-jams, a new, unconditional friendship is made.
