End of the WWII, concentration camp somewhere in Poland. Prisoners have heard that Germans have plans to kill them all, before the Allies come. One of the prisoners escapes, and tries to find the Allies. A manhunt begins.

The action takes place in the period from 1930 to 1934. The main protagonist is a so-called “collective hero”, that is, the revolutionary movement of Yugoslavia during the 1930s, although, conditionally speaking, the main hero is Rodoljub Colakovic.

During the final battles of liberation in 1945, the three generations of a bourgeoisie family gather in their villa. Their children, who recognized the momentum of “new age”, are in touch with the communists. The arrival of their escaped sibling brings the tension into family crisis.

Construction workers talk about their lives, hardships and joys during the times of constant moves from one construction site to the next.

The protagonist, interpreted by Ljuba Tadic, is a scientist in an institute who becomes a victim of the intrigues of his co-workers who took advantage of his once problematic participation in the Chetnik movement during the Second World War.

The sailor with the rose is now a tugboat engineer whose sole task is to tow the target during firing in the navy. The day of his departure from the Army is approaching, when he will say goodbye to the sea and the navy. In love with a young postwoman, after long wanderings, the sailor with a rose decides to become a postman in order to stay close to his beloved.

A story of intellectual elite of Belgrade in 1944 under German occupation. Jovan Orlovic, a renown intellectual, is believed that any court will have understanding for his participation as a minister in the government of Milan Nedic, who was seen as Nazi collaborator in WW2.
