This documentary series examines the Einsatzgruppen, Nazis responsible for the mass murder of Jews, Romani and Soviet prisoners in Eastern Europe.

Investigative documentary tells a story of a Soviet Army soldier Artūras Sakalauskas. On the way home in a train after the Army training, he was humiliated and abused by his fellow comrades and shot all eight of them. Beržinis interviewed different people touched by this tragical event.

The story of Yudel Beilis, a Jew currently living in Israel, who rescued the minor children of his compatriots during the Nazi occupation of Kaunas. That’s what he talks about in this film. bernardinai.lt

The film features excerpts from conferences on the preservation of Holocaust remembrance, as well as authentic documentary footage from Lithuanian Jewish life.

The footage of the film shows Joniškis, Kriukai and Žagarė, places of large Jewish communities before the war. The locals remember the Jews, and tell about the tragedy that befell them during the years of fascist German occupation.

The histories of the Lithuanian state and Lithuanian cinema intertwine. The film incorporates documentary footage from various Lithuanian directors, excerpts from feature and animated films, and interviews with people.
