Empire of Brazil, 1870. A queer indigenous body slowly dies on the cross while a transgender gypsy woman is banned by her people. A half-breed soldier stands in the middle of the way. A child and an old woman cross their stories like destined lines on the palm of a hand.

A dance group rehearses for their latest performance Inabitáveis about black homosexuality. While the choreographer conducts research and gives guided tours, he meets Pedro, a young trans girl looking for her own means of expression. She desperately wants to be taught by him.

An anxious brother delays telling his sister the truth about his upcoming wedding, an uncle takes drastic measures to "make a man" out of his closeted nephew, and a young man reflects on his turbulent teen years and the experiences that pushed him to leave his hometown behind. Câmera Calibre is a short film that talks about resistance: resistance of making independent cinema in Brazil, of being gay in a Brazilian city with a high index of homophobia and of being represented as such on screen - and political resistance in light of a coup against democracy.
