A rock star falls for a rich man's son who competitively board-sails the coast of Western Australia.

A twelve year old boy and a common criminal are being transported in the same ship from England to Australia in the last century. When the ship wrecked they happen to be the only survivors of the catastrophe. Now they have to get along with each other and finally become friends.

The harsh, competitive world of Australian sheep-shearers provides the setting for this powerful film. Foley and 'Black Arthur' do battle for the position of 'top shearer' amid the boozy world of men isolated from civilisation. After weeks of work they are confronted with non-union labour undercutting them - a situation which leads to a violent conclusion.
