A new teacher comes by transfer to an elementary school in Athens. He will distinguish a student which can't read, write or do arithmetic, and will help to discover some other talents he has, and will give him an incentive to try to learn.

Spyros, an accountant, loses his job and wife Gogo, a warm-blooded hairdresser who oppresses him and threatens him with separation. He ends up in a bar, he drinks vodka and falls in love with Natasha, the Russian girl of Vangelis who owns the bar. That same night Spyros saves Vangelis' life, who offers him gratitude to work for him. Thus, Spyros is constantly close to Natassa and the fatal feeling does not come to an end. Meanwhile, Gogo has put Vangelis in the eye. Spyros leaves Gogo to live with Natassa and Vangelis turns to him unsuspecting to help him in this difficult time.

A conscientious tanker driver, Thanasis Papathanasis, works hard to help his sister Afroditi study medicine. He believes that in this way he will be able to marry her off so that then he can finally marry Eleni, whom he has loved for years. His efforts, however, are all in vain, as he is constantly confronted with a corrupt establishment and political situation that generate all the prevailing misfortunes: personal, social and national.

On the occasion of a theatrical performance, the tumultuous history of modern Greece is presented, from the Asia Minor Catastrophe to the invasion of Cyprus. In particular, the ways in which Greece's foreign protectors benefited from the disasters and trials of both our country and the wider Mediterranean and Balkan region are examined.
