ShortFLIX is a short film initiative for aspiring young filmmakers, aged 18-25, who are supported in making short films for broadcast on Sky Arts.
The story follows Maria – a teenager whose mother used to be a hoarder. Now (set in the 90s) she lives in a foster home where a previous resident, Michael, inspires her to revisit the childhood memories and passions that she has repressed.
Follows three women, all in debt to despicable men, their pasts, and each other. The women find themselves bargaining to survive in the only language these men seem to understand: consumption and violence.
