Biography
Mykyta Lyskov started his career in the early 2000s as a classical painter but later worked as a designer in the advertising business. Since 2007, he began to create digital animated films. He works and lives in Dnipro, reflects modern Ukrainian themes in his works, but rethinks them with the help of absurdity and black humor. He collaborates with musicians, creating visual accompaniment for live performances, and works as a VJ. He also creates non-narrative abstract animation films with minimal use of computer technology. Since 2015, he has been making lectures and animation screenings in Ukraine.

True stories of Ukrainian migrant women in Europe, who tell us why they made their decisions to move and what their motivation was. Is the grass really always greener on the other side? And what is home, after all - is it four walls and a roof above your head, or a view from your window, a bench in the park, the smell of the city in the spring? Is it a place of strength which gives you a feeling of security and comfort, or is it a space that allows you to realise your creative ambition, or is it a person who accepts you as you are? Together with the protagonists, we move there and back again, between home and not-home, between the past and the present, between Ukraine and not-Ukraine, immersing ourselves in their worldviews and testing our own.

This short was made in Poland residency near Lublin. During 2 weeks i drew 300 guache colors drawings on paper without any digital equipment. Scan them afterwards and make this movie without any digital editing.
