Sonia Denis is a New York-based comedian by way of Chicago, IL. Sonia's stand-up can be described as idiosyncratic, frenetic and another cool adjective. Sonia was recently named one of Vulture's Comics to Watch and is an Emmy-nominated writer whose work has been featured on HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, The New Yorker, and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency. Sonia co-starred in the Emmy-nominated web series Brown Girls and has also appeared on Adult Swim’s BIRDGIRL, HBO’s High Maintenance, and Netflix’s Bojack Horseman. Her standup was featured on The New Negroes on Comedy Central.
