Johanna and her mother have established a peculiar caregiving dynamic in the home of Paulina, an elderly woman whose senile dementia has distorted her perception of reality. Terrified by the idea that ants will devour her due to her diabetes, Paulina has constructed a parallel world where these insects represent a mortal threat.
