Margarita, 13 years old and an introverted outsider at school, observes the beautiful Ariana on a school trip. All the boys want to be near Ariana, and all the girls want to be like her. Margarita is also fascinated by Ariana and a secret friendship develops between the two very different girls. But then Margarita observes how the crush on Ariana can get out of control and a dark secret is imposed on the class community. Margarita is faced with a conflict of conscience for which there seems to be no solution.

A video cassette is inserted: A toddler in a paddling pool somewhere on the beach. Parents and grandparents scurry around. Pictures of Senem's first visit to Turkey, so she tells us. This is the beginning of a search for home. Through interviews with her parents and grandparents, the filmmaker takes us through the ups and downs of the life of three generations of Turkish guest workers in Germany. The stories are accompanied by images of everyday life in Turkey. Today the family has returned to their homeland, only Senem has remained in Germany. Where does she belong? Sober reflection meets poetic collage, trying to find peace in the space between here and there.

A backyard somewhere in Germany. In the midst of it, two women throwing garbage bags at each other. What happened? Lilly, a student and keen environmentalist, finds plastic bags in the organic waste. What a bloody scandal! Quickly, she inspects the contents of the bags and finds sesame rings. She puts two and two together: It could only have been the baker, Ayse.
