A Russian mystery miniseries set both in medieval times and in the days of Perestroika.

The film consists of two parts: “Insomnia” and “Departure”. We shall meet Lev Tolstoy in the final years of his life at Yasnaya Polyana. We shall see him surrounded by his family, friends, acquaintances and absolute strangers who were coming to the great man and artist from all over the world. We shall hear “the voice of his thoughts”. In his sleepless nights, we shall follow his memory of the happy youthful years and the crucial, hard ones. We shall witness Tolstoy’s tragic departure from Yasnaya Polyana and his death at an obscure little station of Astapovo.

The actions of this mystery movie takes both in the past (in medieval times, as the scientists' hallucinations) and in the days of Perestroika.

The former paratrooper, and now the worker of the geological party Sergey Krutov, hurries to the station to meet a stranger girl and take a note from her for his friend - Having delivered the cherished message, he gladly learns about the arrival of the one he was thinking about, saving someone else's love.

Extraterrestrial Girl visited Earth. Inventor Blinkov fe in love with her. His love has awakened in her new emotions and feelings but she realized that Blinkov can not live in a different world.

A star disappeared in the constellation of the Hound Dogs and at that moment a puppy named Puppy appeared on Earth. He is kind and fair and loyal in his friendship. Puppy can talk and the viewer can hear his inner voice when he communicates with people.

In this farcical dark comedy/melodrama, Lena manages to lose her place at college by virtue of throwing a minor hissy-fit when she catches her erstwhile boyfriend in bed with another girl. Instead of penalizing the boy for his behavior, Lena gets stuck with a court appearance and must pay a small fine, in addition to losing a boyfriend, her college career, and an apartment. Lena belongs to a film club which occasionally hands out awards, and the membership of it decides to send her into the Russian hinterlands to hand out an award to an obscure filmmaker. Throughout the film, Lena has been associated with a bizarre con man named Stepanych who, when his cons fall through, comes to her in the distant town she has gone to seeking her help in committing suicide.

While investigating an ordinary homicide a group of detectives suddenly find a connection to a very first faces of USSR government.
