Takis, a flower shop employee who dreams of becoming a singer, meets Jenny, a famous folk singer, who falls in love with him. Jenny helps Takis to move forward and pursue a career in folk music. Their love is destroyed by the whims of a malicious rich woman, who introduces herself to Jenny as Takis' wife. Jenny is shaken and retreats to a convent, while Takis, following these developments, loses his job and turns to drink. A mutual friend will help the troubled couple reconnect and find happiness.

Dimitris and Maria postpone their wedding, as the declaration of war will separate them. Dimitris will fight on the front lines and later join the Resistance. The deputy leader of his resistance organization is fatally wounded in a sabotage operation against the Germans.
