Since she was very young, Kasumi Toyama has always been searching for the "Star Beat", a sparkling and exciting sound she heard while looking up at the night sky. Just after getting into high school, Kasumi comes across a "star-shaped guitar" in the storage area of an old pawn shop. On Earth in the near future, humanity faced imminent destruction from mysterious giant creatures known as "Huge." The entire world unites against the Huge, and successfully develops weaponry known as "CHARM" (Counter Huge Arms) by combining science and magic. CHARM exhibits high rates of synchronization with teenaged girls, and the girls who use CHARM are viewed as heroes called "Lilies." Throughout the world, "Garden" military academies are established to train Lilies to face the Huge and to serve as bases to protect and guide people. Riri Hitotsuyanagi managed to pass the exam to enter the prestigious Garden known as Yurigaoka Girls' School. She entered in an attempt to find Yuyu Shirai, a girl who rescued her in her past. This is a story about Riri and other girls who aim to become Lilies at one such Garden.

Yukina Minato gathers members intertwined with different thoughts to form a band and participate at the Future World Fes. This is the story of their "promise" from their formation to the challenge of the music festival.
Fifty years ago, mysterious creatures known as the "Huge" suddenly appeared all over the world, posing an existential threat to humanity. To defend against these menaces, soldiers in the form of teenage girls known as "Lilies" use the energy of magie within their bodies to power weapons called "Counter Huge ARMS", or CHARMs. After being saved by a Lily two years ago while evacuating from a Huge attack, Hitotsuyanagi Riri vowed to become a Lily herself. She enrolls in the prestigious academy of Yurigaoka, a training ground for Lilies, in order to be reunited with Shirai Yuyu — the Lily who rescued her. Much to her confusion, however, the person she thought to be cheerful turns out to be quite antisocial and prefers to fight alone. Even so, Riri still wants to get close to Yuyu and is willing to do anything she can to reach that goal.
