In the center of the plot is a senior investigator named Masha Shvetsova and her male colleagues. The plot is the most vital, but, like in “Streets of Broken Lanterns,” it is seasoned with a fair amount of humor - otherwise, how can the audience (and the heroes) endure countless morgues, identifications and other “cute” charms of the investigative routine?
Four bandits in the late nineties come to knock money out of the debtor, but accidentally fall into the cryocamera and end up in 2022. Phil, Chuck, Whizz and Massa do not immediately realize that during this time Moscow has radically changed, their lifestyle has become very outdated, and people around have a lot of unfamiliar devices and strange habits. The worst thing is that their loved ones have grown older, and now someone will have to rebuild their relationship with their son, who has become his age, and someone will have to win the heart of an already much older girlfriend. Now the four friends must find themselves in a new incomprehensible world and take revenge on their former boss, who sent them to the cryocamera.

Marina (Alyona Babenko) is a journalist contemplating retiring, bored of writing stories of serial killers and murders that are front page news one day, and then are quickly forgotten the next. At a large house a lawyer is holed up, police are in the front garden, snipers on the roof and the lawyer asks for Marina. She’s a little surprised by this as she and the lawyer have only crossed paths a few times during her career, but agrees to go to the lawyers house. Arriving at the house she’s confronted by the large police presence, she’s given a quick debrief of the situation and requested not to go into the house. She declines and enters the house. Just inside the front door is the lawyers wife, she tell Marina that he’s lost it and locked the children in their rooms and that he’s going to kill them all.

On his birthday, police captain Chernov arrives at the service and receives a message that after he left, bandits broke into his house and seriously wounded his wife Lyudmila. Doctors save Lyudmila, but she remains in a coma. Chernov is grieving, but suddenly Lyudmila gets in touch with Chernov from the other world. She tells him how to find and punish her offenders.
Valeriya is a talented resuscitator. Work in a prestigious metropolitan clinic, her daughter's plans to enter a university, an affair with the head physician. All this collapses when Valeriya, saving a drug-addicted girl from an overdose, takes extreme measures and fails. The girl's father, an influential man Revzin, deprives Valeriya of the right to practice as a doctor and is even ready - an eye for an eye - to harm her daughter. Valeriya is forced to leave for Petrozavodsk and get a job as an ordinary nurse in a hospital, using her medical school diploma. Her task is to work inconspicuously, without betraying her medical skills and without attracting attention, and the goal is to save her daughter.
The modest and shy Zhenya is plagued by a string of misfortunes: the man she had lived with for quite some time has left her, she has lost her job, and her father offers no help because he lives with his new wife and makes decisions only with her approval. To make matters worse, her landlady keeps demanding rent when Zhenya barely has enough to survive. Her friend Masha comes to the rescue, helping Zhenya regain confidence and encouraging her to take action. While discussing possible ways out of her situation, Zhenya remembers that her grandmother possessed ancient mystical knowledge and had once shared many secrets of magic with her. The friends decide that Zhenya should inherit her grandmother’s gift — and perhaps even make a living from it.
Despite her parents' ban, 20-year-old Faina Feldman is going to conquer theatrical Moscow. The capital greets her with hostility, but Faina doesn't care much, especially since real friends and mentors appear in her life who teach, help, and patronize. Every minor success is followed by a serious life drama. Revolution, then war... and each time there is a serious struggle for life, which is based on fragile hope, a great love for the theater and absolute faith in one's own destiny.
