Matia, a marginal young man, escapes to an island in the River Paraná. In an uncomfortable atmosphere that is not his own, he tries to start a new life, but the tensions his arrival cause take him back to his criminal past and to the idea of having to flee in order to survive.

The roadblock at the entrance to Santa Victoria Este was the beginning of a journey that accompanied the claim of the Wichi and Weenhayek communities through three countries: Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay. The lack of fish in the Pilcomayo River, the main axis of the protests, was the trigger for a complex political, economic and social framework, which is still awaiting answers.

Two documentary filmmakers, passionate about the river, embark on a journey along the Paraná River basin to explore the profound reality of its riverside communities. Their voyage reveals the conflict between global export projects and the fishermen, islanders, and local communities. Amidst the lowest water levels in recorded history, they navigate the river daily to defend their unwavering connection to the water and its biodiversity.

Tragic events that occurred in Argentina and are linked to the post-Malvinas War, state terrorism, trigger-happy police, and the deforestation of the country coexist in a documentary that narrates the different stories like relays.
