Biography
Louis Saia (born Luigi Saia; May 25, 1950 – April 1, 2026) was a Canadian screenwriter and film director, most noted for the Les Boys movie franchise. He began his career as a theatrical director, becoming best known for the comedic show Broue, co-created with Jean-Pierre Plante, Francine Ruel, Michel Côté, Marcel Gauthier, Marc Messier and Claude Meunier, in the early 1980s. In 1984 they received a Floyd S. Chalmers Canadian Play Award for the show's English translation, Brew. In this era he also wrote film screenplays, including the theatrical films Voyage de nuit and A Childhood Friend (Une amie d'enfance), and the television film Appelez-moi Stéphane, an adaptation of his own earlier stage play. Beginning in 1993 he was one of the writers of the popular Quebec television sitcom La Petite Vie, alongside Meunier. In 1995 he released his debut film as a director, The Sphinx (Le Sphinx). He followed up in 1997 with Les Boys, which became his popular breakthrough and spawned several sequel films. After three films in the Les Boys franchise he followed up with the film Dangerous People (Les Dangereux) in 2002, but has since worked predominantly in television, including on the television series Radio Enfer, Histoire de filles, Max Inc. and Vice cachée.

Through the Mist
Every Monday evening, at the arena, eleven men get together to lovingly put on the jersey of the Boys, the hockey team of a "garage" league to which they belong. As Stan, their revered trainer, would affectionately say, they have the "puck" tattooed on their hearts. It doesn't matter if they are lawyers, policemen, mechanics or unemployed, as soon as they enter the locker room, everyone forgets their age, their work and their problems.
The Boys
It has kidnapped Roxane Labelle, a Canadian singer covered gold records and awards. To his captors, no question of release without payment of a large ransom. Father and manager of the star, Paul Labelle asks a small accountant do it. Easier said than done, especially the payer also has a large sum to the Mafia and, rapidly, what Québec account scoundrels, thieves and killers are chasing the fabulous bonanza.
Dangerous People
Three years have passed. The Boys are still a great hockey team in a garage league. Their coach Stan, in France for three years, returns from his trip to the delight of his troops. However, a wealthy businessman appears in the background and the players feel drawn to the lure of profit until the point where the Boys will face... the Boys.
The Boys III
At a maximum security prison, there is preparation for the annual party where entertainers and strippers are scheduled to perform. But not everyone is having fun. A man is sent to solitary, his wife has a nervous breakdown, and a convict prepares to make a daring escape.

Three couples meet at one of them for a slide show evening. But nobody takes pleasure in this evening, where triumphs the banality of the exchanges: it is a socialization forced by the bonds of the neighborhood, devoid of empathy or sincerity.
