Ingrid Liavaag

Biography
Ingrid Liavaag is a Norwegian artist working in film, theater, and video installations. Educated at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, she has directed films shown nationally and internationally. In 2022, she won the Norwegian Film Critics' Award. Her video installation work is part of the Southern Norway Art Museum collection and her film Facade was shown at Statens Høstutstilling 2024. Relationships are a recurring theme in her work, investigating feminism and gender through the intricacies and complexities of human relationships. Liavaag is a Co-founder of the film collective Peggy Høy and former member and founder of the interdisciplinary company LiLiRe.

Verden venter
In the middle of preparing his apartment to have Mira live with him, Luc escapes to Svalbard. Stumbling drunk out of an Artic “Oktoberfest”, Luc meets Mike, a stranger who lives in an isolated cabin in the Arctic desert. Mike mysteriously abandons Luc in mid conversation. Intrigued, Luc decides to find Mike. Along the way, he meets Ingrid, a Norwegian teacher. Luc rushes into the footsteps of Mike who remains elusive and volatile, Luc hunts a shadow, his own possibly.
Hytte
Lost in life and suffering from severe eczema which turns her skin into fish scales, Sarah travels to see her father whom she hardly knows and who is incapable of helping her. While on a boat trip together out at sea, Sarah dives into the water, resolving to become a fish.

Facade
We follow a maternity group for a year. Parents and babies who are put together in groups of the health station and who meet at each other's home and eat lunch. Some of them have big plans. They will buy and sell property. Some are concerned about doing things right. Can babies eat cucumbers? What about cheese?
