Biography
Molly Gillis is a recent graduate of NYU Grad Film with her MFA in writing & directing. She is a 2019 Spike Lee Production Fund recipient and 2019 Princess Grace Foundation winner of the Cary Grant Film Honor for her thesis short film PLAISIR, premiering at SXSW in March 2021. She received the 2019-2020 Davey Foundation grant for her next project to be filmed in 2021. Her work has screened at Oscar qualifying festivals including Palm Springs International Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Flickers Rhode Island, Maryland Film Festival, and others. Her last short film entitled NOW YOU KNOW premiered on Short of the Week & continues to screen worldwide. She also holds a BFA in experimental theater from NYU. Born in Maryland, based in Brooklyn. She grew up in front of the tv, which explains a lot.
