Made in Japan was recorded live over three nights during 15–17 August 1972 at Festival Hall, Osaka and at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan. Four of the tracks come from the album Machine Head which had been released earlier that year. The album was at first seen as somewhat unimportant by the band members, and only Roger Glover and Ian Paice showed up to mix it. The release in the US was delayed, until April 1973, because Warner Bros. wanted to release Who Do We Think We Are first. The three concerts recorded were later released as Live in Japan 3-CD box set (1993). According to the liner notes for that set, unlike many live albums, there are no overdubs or studio additions to the original album.

Almost 50 years after their founding, Deep Purple released their 20th studio album “Infinite”. Hard rock legends Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey went on tour for the last time. On June 16th they performed at Hellfest, the biggest French metal meeting. Mat Bastard hosted this special, final concert.

The best moments of live concerts between 1970 and 1972 were recorded by German TV and are on this DVD. Big names in unforgettable performances such as the Nazareth acoustic and the performance of B. J. Wilson, the drummer of Procol Harum. An unmissable show with Alice Cooper's stage performances and lots of excitement with Santana and Jethro Tull.

Live at Montreux 1996 is a live DVD by British hard rock band Deep Purple, recorded in 1996 and released in 2006. The CD and DVD release features live performances from Montreux in 1996 and 2000.
