Bao Ninh

An immersive 360-degree narrative telling the epic story of the Vietnam War as it has never before been told on film. Featuring testimony from nearly 80 witnesses, including many Americans who fought in the war and others who opposed it, as well as Vietnamese combatants and civilians from both the winning and losing sides.

Bao Ninh's novel "Krigets sorger/The Sorrows of the War" deals with how the Vietnamese themselves perceived the war. A low-key and desperate picture, far from the heroic self-sacrificing struggle that those in power like to emphasize.

A platoon loses contact with their commanders and finds themselves stuck in the vast forests with no way out. Plagued by despair and the constant sightings of their fallen comrades, the soldiers begin to succumb to ill health and madness.
