Lera is a star Moscow obstetrician and a proponent of natural childbirth. One of her clients is Masha, the young mistress of influential businessman Shakhov. She is expected to give birth to his long-awaited heir, but due to complications during childbirth, the baby is born in critical condition. Shakhov initiates an investigation, the outcome of which will determine the fate of not only the clinic but also Lera herself — the main suspect in the tragedy.

Mother and daughter live in an apartment that has turned into a dump. Their relationship can hardly be called ideal; one day the 17-year-old Alina can’t bear it any more and runs away from home with a knight in sportive suit. But is it all clean beyond the threshold of her house?

In this large family, everybody yearns for sex: both teenagers and adults. Inna is around 50, she is a well-known midwife and a specialist in soft labor. Despite her achievements, Inna feels unhappy. After a difficult divorce, four children support the mother, until one day there appears a mysterious lover who calls her on a journey. The heroine starts emergency fees, but not all issues can be resolved quickly and easily: Inna will have to endure the bureaucracy, the impassable stupidity of the small clerks, and most importantly, the condemnation of her children.
