During the summer of 1937, Emanuel, a young man in his early twenties, is committed to a sanatorium on the Black Sea coast for treatment of his bone tuberculosis. The treatment consists of painful spine punctures that confine him to a plaster on a stretcher-bed. Little by little, as Emanuel gets accustomed to the sadness of his new life, he discovers that inside the sanatorium there is still a life to be lived to the fullest.

The school year is inaugurated by teacher Socrates with an extemporary exam on the theme "How would I like to be the class headmaster?". Socrates' popularity worries the math teacher, Isoscel. But Socrates also has his worries about Anca, his daughter in love.

Former classmates Dana, Ionica, Geta, and Cosmin face adult challenges: Dana, now a reporter craving thrilling cases, ropes Cosmin into playing detective. Meanwhile, Geta and Ionica’s romance is shattered when Ionica is mistaken for notorious drug trafficker “Blondul” and arrested.

Two lovers are kept away from each others during childhood because of a secret family recipe war between the two families. After they grow up they meet again and try to regain the recipe to make a new family restaurant work.

Dan is a kid whose existence is ravaged by family problems. His parents are divorced, and he is hopeful that they will reconcile.
