Russians will survive everywhere. And in the desert, and at the bottom of the sea, and in America. They will learn everything and they can teach the Americans a lot ... For example, how to catch criminals. Russian investigator Andrei Somov fell in love with an American dancer and moved with her to America for permanent residence. He wanted to work in the police, but he was not hired. Therefore, he has to wash dishes, look after the sick, clean, wash, walk other people's dogs, cook. But his dream of becoming a detective is coming true: he becomes the best detective in Los Angeles. Each episode of the film has its own plot.

"У.Е." means "условная единица" in Russian or "CU" (conventional unit) in English. A conditional unit is a euphemism used in Russia to denote a monetary amount in a foreign currency (usually US dollars) or an equivalent amount of a dollar in rubles at an official or exchange rate. The retired 50-year-old FSB colonel at his own risk and continues to investigate the case, because of which he was sent to retirement, and is drawn into a swirl of events related to the leakage of Russian capital abroad and the fight against international terrorism.

Desire and addiction form the confluence of bad choices and unintended consequences for Veronica Lambert. Her desperation to see her desires fulfilled is palpable as she acclimatizes to big city life, while assuaged by the good intentions of Mr. New York, an old-time movie hustler who befriends the new arrival to the Hollywood scene. Her interest in true love and naivete in life becomes fodder for her married lover, who ultimately seduces her into a criminally-sociopathic and brutal act. Similar to Crash or Pulp Fiction, each character's progressively egocentric motives juxtapose one another, form a cross-hatch of competing elements to complicate and in the end, clarify the outcome of a long path toward betrayal and loss.

Short epic fairytale inspired by the 900 yrs old manuscript written by the Georgian monk, Shotha Rustaveli. The work is a cinematic intervention into painting honoring the byzantine poetics and Georgian lineage.
