Bolshoi Ballet stars Vladimir Vasiliev and Ekaterina Maximova dance this 1982 performance of "Anyuta," the story of a small-town woman who purposely marries above her social status only to learn that popularity comes with a price. Maximova performs the role of Anyuta; Vasiliev plays Anyuta's drunk father.
A choreographic story based on the drama by the famous Spanish poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca "Mariana Pineda". The historical drama is based on real events that took place in Spain in the 19th century. Mariana Pineda is a national heroine executed for her political beliefs. The mass scenes of the production feature artists from the Kirov Opera and Ballet Theatre and students from the Vaganova Choreographic School.
