Antoine Cousin-Mazure

Hippolyte, the chef at the small Paris restaurant of the title, is losing his sense of smell - and without that, you can’t cook. Not in France. The restaurant has to close. Guests and customers of the ailing master chef gather for one last fabulous meal. Between courses, personal conflicts are explored and flashbacks flesh out incidents from the lives of the restaurant owners.

Rose was a brilliant student of Fine Arts. Then, she gave up everything for a "beautiful marriage". Now in her thirties, she is experiencing more and more difficulties in her life, which is both materially overprotected and difficult with her three children and an increasingly absent husband. She breaks down, cracks up and tries to imagine how she could broach the subject with her husband before it's too late. To her great amazement, it was Didier who, one evening before going to visit friends, announced that he was leaving and that he had already rented a small studio. After the shock, Rose goes to her father, an old Spanish anarchist, who gives her back the taste for values she thought she had lost.

Yann leads a seemingly happy life with his two children and a beautiful, loving, dynamic woman Julianne. Yet he is unhappy. For ten years, he has dreamed of writing a great novel that wins the Prix Goncourt, but all he gets on paper is the adventures of the Hippopoum TV figure and he flies away in the alcohol. One day Julianne is the Norwegian bushes of masculine pleasure and she pulls out with the director of a TV station. A disaster for Yann, because she leaves their children behind him and he is not able to take care of them.

A mother, depressed since the birth of her twin daughters, sinks into alcoholism, but her eldest son decides to do everything to save his family.
