Spuk am Tor der Zeit is the conclusion of the trilogy, the mummy of Roggelin. The children's series from the "Spooky" series by Günter Meyer is thus the continuation of Ghost in the realm of shadows.

Eight year old Paul and his mother just moved to a skyscraper. After an embarrassing encounter with Anna, Paul meets her in the elevator. Anna makes fun of him and they start to quarrel. They can't arrange about going up or down. The elevator suddenly drops and carries them deep down into the realms of a wicked witch. The witch is out for their youth, since her own time is running out. Their only chance against her is for once to help together. They meet a blind horse, a clock without clock hand and a knight without courage helping them on their journey.

Two men want to escape the hustle and bustle of Christmas in the city and travel to the countryside. However, it's not easy to find accommodation on the spur of the moment. And so they end up in a rather spartan hostel…

Children are introduced to the magical world of cinema in a cheerful and fantastic way; embedded in a turbulent story, they learn about the film professions. A young author, Alice, has written a story and travels to the DEFA feature film studio where this story is to be realized. On the way there, she meets characters she has already invented. The doorman, who is later recognized as one of the actors, wants to refuse them entry. Now begins a cheerful plot to realize the story, which is based on a well-known fairy tale, combined with the chase of the gatekeeper, prince and princess. Alice stands up for her charges, who occasionally slip away from her, and tries to move the plot forward, which involves various film professions. In the end, the real and the fictional merge in a fairytale meadow.

Kai, a young boy, living in 1923 Berlin tries to convince an American businessman that he can market his chewing gum better than anyone else in town.

Two school classes compete against each other. The prize for the winner is a trip to the Baltic Sea. Lars, Peter and the group leader Manni are confident of victory in the cross-country game, after all they have gained experience in the game as "Chapaev's cavalry army". The first point goes to them. However, they fail the math Olympiad - an Indian movie was more important to them than learning. And before the soccer match, they split into two groups. Lars leads a pitiful remnant of Chapaev riders, while Peter plays Indians with the others. At the soccer match, they put legs on each other, and the other class wins that point too. After the defeat comes the realization: maybe they should practice "Cosmonaut" together again - until next year's competition.

Some unusually intense meteorological event causes a family to suddenly swap roles. That means that the children are in charge and the adults must obey. Coincidentally, mother’s new admirer, Mr. Droehmbüdel, proposes marriage but when he enters their apartment, he is very surprised by the strange family relationships. With determination her son (Tom) tries to chase him away against constant pleas from his mother and grandmother. But Mr. Droehmbüdel does not give up and is constantly inventing new ways to gain access to his future home.

Now Balthasar, the true murderer of the shepherd, has had to take the place of his brother Friedrich in the glass coffin of the crypt. Thus Friedrich Freiherr von Kuhlbanz has finally found peace in the shadow realm. But Maja is still looking for a way to him and sticks to her love for Friedrich. Apparently, however, Balthasar wants to use her longing to satisfy his thirst for revenge on von Kuhlbanz. A victim and black magic come just at the right time with his diabolical plan.

Eight-year-old Andrea, known as Mücke, her brother Thomas and their parents intend to celebrate this year's New Year in a completely different way. They have rented a hunting lodge in the mountains and want to hold their very special New Year's Eve party here. But then a snowstorm hits, the effects of which are so extreme that the cabin is cut off from the outside world. Now parents and children are left to their own devices, finally able to spend some quality time together. But the four of them have differing views on how to do this, and they even get into arguments. Of course, they also have to deal with how to "survive" an unforeseeable period without contact with the outside world.

The documentary deals with the subject of "big city noise" in a humorous and satirical, but also serious way, using the example of East Berlin, whereby the main focus is on noise that disturbs peace and quiet, i.e. noise that can be avoided, such as recklessly listening to loud music and watching television, clearly audible inner-family communication, dogs barking, nocturnal DIY work, rapid braking and honking of vehicle horns, etc. With the help of animations/animated scenes, the film vividly demonstrates the widespread interpersonal bad habits.

The "Dagger of Batu Khan", a goldsmith's work from the 10th century that was thought to be lost, is discovered in a bricked-up cellar vault. Sebastian, whose father is the head curator at the "Green Vault" in Dresden, and his friends are allowed to help prepare the museum's exhibition of the dagger. They accidentally learn that the dagger is to be stolen and their lives are put in danger when they thwart the planned theft.

Founded in 1954 as the “Deutsche Hochschule für Filmkunst”, today's “Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen” is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The documentary traces the history of the university. Graduates of the school have their say and excerpts of student films from five decades are presented.
