On her birthday a teenager adventures off to a birthday party that promises to be a memorable one.
It’s summer, and the whole Kim family has gathered in Daegu for the ancestral rites. This includes Seong-jin, the eldest grandson of the family, whose father has taken on the family business: a tofu factory. After the rites, family tensions start to rise and Seong-jin drops the bombshell that he won’t be taking on the family business.
Two friends have recently broken up with their lovers. While taking a walk in a forest in Seoul, they find a bag on a bench. After some time, they travel to Gangwon-do to have their fortunes read. Someone appears out of the blue and yells that the bag is hers.
Baekseol is a 29 year old college student in Seoul. She recently failed to become a regular employee and is considering going to graduate school. But out of the blue, her mother –Haesook – visits from Daegu and announces that she wants to travel the world alone in order to fully live her life.
Twenty two years old Yongi and Yoonhee are unable to dream for a better future. No matter how much they try, the reality is heavy and exhausting. Eventually they go their own separate ways.
Today, Yunmi will meet Teo, her younger brother, who was adopted by a family in Germany. Yunmi doesn’t speak German, and Teo speaks very little Korean. How will they communicate and spend the day?
